Update from the Mental Health and Young People Think Tank

by Jenni Osborn February 22, 2017 A

At the end of January we met again to move things forward in our plan to be a catalyst and stir up the church to be thinking more about young people and the impact of mental health issues on their lives.

James, Tim, Rachael, Ruth and Jenni all met in a café in London to talk things through.

The exciting news is that the Think Tank are joining forces with SelfharmUK to put on a conference in July this year to give more opportunities to those working with young people to learn more about the potential impact of mental health on their own groups as well as considering the impact on themselves. It’ll be an opportunity to hear from a broad range of voices; from well-known names but also from some teenagers themselves about that impact.

The conversation was animated, the coffee/ginger beer flowed as we put together workshops and keynote speeches and made a plan for how it will unfold.

Next meeting is on 31st March in Luton. If you’re interested in joining us as a Think Tank please get in touch. Otherwise watch this space (and others) for further news on the conference.
